Mental and substance use disorders affect people from all works of life and age groups. These illnesses are common, recurrent, and often serious, but they are treatable and many people do recover. It is estimated that 20% of the population will experience a behavioural health disorder at some time in their lives.
To accomplish this mission, our clinical team is ready to meet the needs of our clients. We believe that local residents should not have to travel long distances to receive professional behavioural health services. We truly provide professional services close to home.

- Provide psychological services and therapeutic support to individuals and groups, including to Adults, children, young people and families.
- Conduct Psychological Assessments for our clientele;
- Provide clinical advice to staff and managers about ethical and effective way to address the mental health and wellbeing needs of clients;
- Contribute to the design, development and evaluation of the mental health and psychological programs and services;
- Provide psychological services;
- Design, evaluate and implementation of evidencebased Psychological interventions;
- Prepare adn implement individual treatment plans for clients;
- Consult and liase regularly with families, carer’s advocates and significant others.
- Design, develop and evaluation of mental health and psychological programs and services;
- Provide clinical advice, peer supervision and debriefing to staff as required;
- Maintain up to date, accurate and comprehensive records and case notes in accordance with PBHAC policy, best practice standards;
- Write assessments and reports in timely manner;
- Adhere to ethical standards of clinical and research practice in accordance with PBHAC policy frameworks.
- Relate to other work peers within Mental Health Sector and other Government and
- Non-Government organizations/services doing similar work;
- Ensure the developments of therapeutic relationships with clients of the service are maintained professionally;
- Communicate with referring agents and clinicians in the community involved in the ongoing managment of individual consumers and their carers.
- Advanced practive skills and an ability to undertake Psychological testing and assessments covering a broad range of presentations.
- Knowledge and ability to use evidence based psychometric assessment tools, including the capacity to provide psycho-educational and therapeutic group programs to parents, children and family groups.
- Ability to develop and implement treatment and recovery plans for individuals, groups and families as required.
- Ability to conduct psychological assessment and therapy.
- Provide training and education of other professionals;
- Provide specialist psychological assessments of individuals based upon the appropraite use, interpretation and integration of complex data from a variety of sources including psychological and neuropsychological tests, which require accurate administration and timing, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with individuals, support staff, family members and others involved in their care.
- Formulate and implement plans for theformal psychological therapy and/or management of an individual’s mental health problems, based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of the individual’s problems, and employing methods based upon evidence of efficacy.
- Negotiate the implementation of such plans and handling of complex, sensitive, confidential and at times contentious information.
- Implement a range of specialist psychological interventions for individuals, careers, families and groups, within and across teams, adjusting and refining psychological formulations drawing upon different explanatory models and maintaing a number of provisional hypothesis.
- Cordinate the implementation of Positive Behavioral Support plans across the service and help those people we support enjoy the best quality of life possible, helping people achieve their full potential.
- Evaluate and make decisions about therapy options taking into account both theoritical and therapeutic models and highly complex factors concerning historical and developmental processes that have shaped the individual, family or group.
- Provide specialist psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to individuals’ formulation, and intervention plan.
- Contribute directly and indirectly to a psychologically based framework of understanding and care to the benefit of all individuals of the service.
- Communicate and receive highly complex, sensitive or contentious information in a highly skilled and sensitive manner, in the course of psychological therapy.
